I, Pencil Commentary
a.
* it is so interesting that the passage raises the point that not a single person on the earth knows how to make a pencil.
* I never know it is so complicated to make a pencil and so many people are involve in this producing process.
* It is also interesting that only God can make a tree, and we cannot even describe a tree, unless in superficial terms.
*It is interesting that pencil's "lead" itself contains no lead at all.
b.
*What will happen if the whole nation's mails are delivered by a private company? Can they be more efficient than government?
*What effect will it bring to economy if there is no government's intervention? Will GDP be higher or lower than now?
*what change will be brought to the quality of pencil if every worker knows that they are
producing a small party of a pencil?
c.
As the passage says in the last paragraph, it wants to teach us a lesson is that "leave all creative energies uninhibited ". Everything we are using in daily life is the result of the creative energies, that is why the society invests so much money and advocates people to develop their innovation ability. Everyone has their own specialty, their work is necessary during the process of making a product. If one part is missing, there will not be any production. Each individual is unique, they can be creative without the government's intervention. Like the example in the passage, delivering mails. Most people think that mails cannot be delivered efficiently. It is true that no man can organize the whole nation's mails, then government comes in and organize each one's work. As the time goes on, people start to lose their creativity and only listen to what government tells them. Eventually, people do what they are told without any thoughts.
