Cars - big toy
I love cars since I was very young, probably because I love speed.
When I was a little boy, I loved toy cars. Now I become a big man, and I love cars. Every night, I would spend at least 30 minutes watching YouTube about cars review or browsing websites about latest news on cars. And personally, I have driven many different cars. They are owned by my family and my friends.
Below is my most wanted car even though I cannot afford it:
Land Rover Range Rover HSE petrol White exterior and black interior with Black Design package. The look is exactly the same as the limited edition of previously released Range Rover HSE Td6, I think black and white are forever the only two classic colors that never go out of fashion.
I did not like range rover before, but I do not know since when I start to fall in love with Range rover and I cannot pull myself out of it even though people are concerned about the reliability. I did a lot research, that is true for past models, but new models are way better. I guess I will just have to find out myself when I actually own one. I love the smooth ride, I like the commanding position and great view from driving seat. I like the curves and edges, I love every single inch of the car. I started to fall in love with SUV/big cars when I had to switch my Audi A5 due to the heavy snow. Compare to my A5, my X6 handles better and more stable with more curb weight. If you drive fast with water on the street, I need to control my steering wheel more than driving in my X6. And of course you get better view sitting in a SUV.
I switched to a 2012 X6M, and I love everything about it except one, the low profile tires give me a hard time when dealing with tough road condition. The car came with 20'' wheel and tire set, but I bought another set of 21'' because I liked the way they look as well as more width on the tire. It was OK when I was in upstate NY, the road was not that bad. Then I moved to Michigan, it was not bad as well until I drove it to Chicago. The road condition was terrible on the way to Chicago on Indiana highway, I had flat tire on the way to Chicago. Then I got towed to nearest BMW dealer for repair, they had to order the tire and I luckily I got a loaner's car --- 5 series - 528i. After a short visit to Chicago, I stopped at the dealer and picked up my car with new tire, got on the road. Boom, flat tire again near the same location as last time, except this time is front right rather than front left. I had my vehicle towed back to Michigan. The total cost for this the was 500(hotel)+900(2 tires)+700(towing)=2.1K. I also had another incident that I went over a pothole, the tire was ok, but the rim was bent, so it was another $600 on the wheel. I had enough of this kind of BS, so I ordered a set of 19" wheel and tire set for 2K, and now I am driving happily with 19'' wheel. You are sacrificing ride quality for appearance.
So here is one lesson: never go beyond recommended wheel size. Look good means nothing if you plan to drive.
I could understand why the standard equipped wheel size was 20'', but why does the new X6M come with 21'' as standard? I high doubt the risk of flat tire.
